What does the J.L.B. offer ?

A) Aviation oriented instruction. This forms the backbone and most important part of the activities. Basically the theoretical part of the private pilot license is spread over two years and to this "aviation enthusiast/hobby" aspects are added to obtain following program of instruction:
Aerodynamics
Aerospace instruments
Aerospace engines
Navigation
Meteorology
Aircraft recognition
Space flight
Air Traffic Control
Aviation history
General aviation (which includes lectures by previous members now working as professionals in aviation)

B) General education. To prepare our members to become good members of our society following also forms part of the instruction package:
1. General forming - This includes lectures on :
- Drug abuse (local police)
- Table manners
- General organization rules when in uniform

2. Leadership training including topics such as:
- Communication
- Fostering motivation
- Teambuilding
- Leadership skills

3. Parading - Military style parading and marching to foster team spirit and discipline.

For the topics mentioned under A there are three levels of difficulty and for each level the member can pass a test for which a certificate is obtained (if above 70% is scored). The levels are 3rd class (lowest) , 2nd and 1st class (approx. equal to the level of private pilot theoretical).
